Legal practice primarily entailed assisting clients with complex contract matters, including litigating complex contract disputes and negotiating and drafting complex contracts. Also assisted clients with commercial transactions, commercial and tort disputes, business formation and governance issues, government regulatory issues, copyright and trademark issues, consumer protection issues, securities issues, risk management issues, and real estate issues. Handled and managed high-stakes, high-profile, multi-party, multi-million-dollar lawsuits that arose in several different jurisdictions, including Washington, Oregon, California, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, Colorado, Idaho, and Hawaii. Managed case teams comprised of junior attorneys and support staff. In large, multi-jurisdictional cases, also managed attorneys and staff in other offices and law firms. Served as litigation oversight counsel for insurance company clients. Served as Hiring Attorney 2006-2008 and as a member of the Hiring Committee 2001-2008. Interviewed, evaluated, recruited, and hired exceptionally well qualified entry-level attorney candidates.
