Daily Duties at Kindred:

Responsible for $110 Million AR. Determined strategies for successful response to financial indicators and adverse trends to maximize cash collections. Accountable for management, development, evaluation hiring and discipline of billing and collections staff. Monitored inpatient/outpatient charges, benefit verifications, posting, billing, collection operations and daily operations. Reviewed all incoming accounts in regards to revenue potential. Ensured accurate and timely billing processes are adhered to. Managed any reconciliation of accounts due to loss or gain of revenue. Monitored anesthesia billing done by contracted billing service. Managed departmental budgetary benchmarks. Coordinated patient accounting processes with other departments to ensure proper coding and billing parameters are met. Negotiated and coordinated managed care contracts. Knowledgeable of Missouri, Kansas and Illinois Medicaid, Medicare, VA, commercial and managed care medical billing guidelines. Attended Senior, Quality Improvement, Manager and other miscellaneous meetings. Assisted CFO in preparation of financial reports, analysis of general ledger accounts and preparation of journal entries for month-end closings.
