Daily Duties at Mgm Resorts International Mgm Grand Property:
I led the recruitment efforts for all casino positions for MGM Grand and NYNY Hotel and Casinos. I focused on development of relationships with managers and their respective departments to ensure their recruitment needs were being met and the best candidates identified. I interviewed candidates to ensure the requirements set by the department were met. I understood the importance of placing the right candidate the first time and the amount of money the organization would have to invest if an incorrect candidate was hired and we had to terminate and rehire. Worked with Human Resource Representatives to ensure they were properly trained in interviewing and screening applicants according to the MGM Grand standards, minimum qualification and all applicable laws. I successfully maintained a strong qualified candidate pool to fill areas that experienced high turnover, through strategic and direct recruitment from the Culinary Union, local High Schools and Colleges. I had the opporunity to organize the company’s attendance and participation at job fairs and community events such as the Annual Las Vegas Review Journal Job Fair, UNLV Career Day and Nevada Partners' Job Fair. I was knowledgeable of the union contract as I worked with the management team when conducting shift bids. I also stayed abreast of current hiring laws/regulations and educated department managers of any changes. I worked with the development of advertising strategies and layouts through local and national periodicals as well as the internet. I was an instrumental part of the team that rolled out the new Position Vacancy Notice (PVN) system that allowed our properties to register and process applicants through a paperless system. I trained managers on how to use the system.
