Daily Duties at Hse / Safety:

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Have worked in the energy / oil related business the past 14 years in the Safety/Security field. With experience throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Worked twice on government contracts in the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for the DOD/US Army and USACE and Under DOD / US ARMY for OEF 2012. Worked in Haiti under US State Dept(International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Program) pre Eartquake and for the World Bank post Earthquake. Overseas assignment as HSE Inspector but also included various duties as PR, Government Relations for other Military, Government, City Officals and local communites. In the Nuclear Industry have worked under DOE , NRC and TVA on numerious assignments. Most of my assigned projects were conducted at paper mills, power houses, power generation ( Gas, Coal, Hydro, Wind, Fossil) cement plants, oil refineries, chemical plants, fiberglass and rice manufacturing plants, civil contracts, maintenance assignments, Nuclear, Government, steel mills during shut downs, overall preventive maintenance. Worked in the field starting out as pipefitter, boilermaker, welder.Worked 1 year contracts, Short term assignments and/or new construction. These assignments covered both non union and union manned. In this line of business job assignments can come days, weeks or months from one to the other. So in between job assignments have worked for other contractors.

What they like about Hse / Safety:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
