Daily Duties at Prince George's County Government Maryland:

As the first appointed Executive Director of Public Safety Communications, I was the Change Agent Manager responsible for integrating and re-engineering the infrastructure of three separate public safety organizations’ functions into one, stand-alone Public Safety Agency. As the senior Executive and head of the Agency, my responsibilities in developing the "birth" of this new agency to encompass the new and broader scope of services included a complete re-engineering of the organization's internal infrastructure, developing new standard operating procedures, developing new organizational and reporting levels, unification of five separate unions, implementation of restructured Civilianization plan, physical relocation of three organizational units into one physical site, evaluate, identify, and order new, state-of-the-art CAD, RMS, and other IT equipment for Year 2000 compliance, analyze staffing and shift configuration for operational efficiency, plus all duties and tasks associated with overseeing the remodeling of a 80,000 square foot building to house four separate agencies including Public Safety Communications. Additional responsibilities included direction of the Police, 47 Fire & EMS stations, and Sheriff's dispatch and communications operations, re-engineering human resources, administrating and ensuring proper Budgetary Controls, plus all paging and radio infrastructure, False Alarm Unit, Data and Phone Communications, and Electronic Telecommunications functions.
