Daily Duties at Lorain County General Health District:
• Facilitate and document technical assistance as a part of a team of Health Education professionals in order to engage community partners towards the creation of environmental, systems and policy changes that support healthy eating, active living and tobacco avoidance in schools, worksites, health care facilities and the community as a whole. • Develop, maintain and evaluate cooperation between public, civic, professional and voluntary agencies in order to provide information to Lorain County residents regarding how to prevent disease, injuries and improve and maintain healthy lifestyles. • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification utilized to adhere to the Seven in Areas of Responsibility while administering culturally competent community-based programs and social marketing campaigns. • Establish, expand and report upon community partnerships through both Safe Community and Creating Healthy Communities grant deliverables in order to reduce unintentional injuries related to traffic crashes and create environments in order to reduce the leading causes of chronic disease.
