Daily Duties at Carraway & Associates:

The handling of complex litigation cases from inception to resolution. The handling of files on a day to day basis includes drafting of pleadings, motions, discovery, and the taking of depositions of key witness including lay witness and expert witnesses. I have taken the deposition of over 100 expert witnesses and over 100 key witnesses whose testimony is critical to the facts of the cases. I have also defended depositions of clients including expert witnesses and lay witnesses who are offering testimony to the benefits of clients. I have personally attended over 100 mediation sessions with mediators in attempt to resolve cases dealing with hundreds of thousands of dollars. The mediations are necessary in attempt to resolve cases short of trial and saving insurance carriers thousands of dollars. I have also handled discovery disputes with Speclai Masters assigned to the cases. I have attended over 100 Special Master meeting where key discovery issues are decided including whether discovery can move forward or not. I have also attended inspections of homes and other building systems at thousands of homes including evaluating with experts the validity of claims dealing with construction and products. The handling of files includes the drafting of correspondence to carriers, clients, experts, co-counsel, Plaintiff's counsel, and Developer's counsel and keeping people informed of events occurring in the cases. During my time, I have handled 30-40 cases at a time with no supervision and with little assistance by the partner of the firm. I have also handled cases which have not resolved and are preparing to go to trial including assisting in the drafting of jury questionnaire, jury instructions, pre-trial motions, and trial briefs. I also supervised 3-4 younger associates including coordinating daily activities for the associates and assisting in reviewing billing to ensure all activities were billable and got final approval for payment by carriers. I also reviewed younger associates' work including drafting of motions, correspondence, discovery, and pleadings,

What they like about Carraway & Associates:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
