Daily Duties at Holiday Inn Select Riverside :
Coordinated operations and large-scale initiatives for full-service hotel comprised of 292 guest rooms, 24 suites, and 14,000 square feet of meeting space. Directed daily operations (monitoring PBX staff, operators, maintaining rooms statuses, room inspections, monitoring Security Staff) of more than 35 staff members including front desk and bell staff. Managed accounts receivable for corporate accounts and supervised housekeeping and banquet departments. Administered pilot and flight attendant program for 3 international airlines totaling more than $1M in revenue. Oversee that guests are welcomed, registered into a hotel's computer system and assigned an appropriate room or suite. Perform or delegate various tasks, such as making or confirming reservations, verifying and collecting guests' payments, issuing room keys and contacting housekeeping or maintenance when guests report a problem. Take ownership of problems and issues that arise and have excellent problem-solving skills. Provide hotel clerks with necessary training and support. Responsibilities include tracking and posting appropriate food, liquor or telephone charges to guests' accounts; completing bookkeeping duties, like balancing accounts and conducting nightly financial audits; and recording and referring patron comments and complaints to the appropriate hotel manager. Ensure that accurate records are maintained and all other departments are informed of arrivals, check-outs and special arrangements such as VIP privileges. Conduct daily corralation meeting with Front Office staff ensuring that all staff are aware of special events, VIPs, etc. Check staff schedule, ensuring that sufficient staff are available to meet operational needs. Ensure an efficient and courteous mail, message, etc service for guests, ensuring that all messages are delivered promptly to the correct room. Provide guest with information on local tour attraction, local information and transport, etc. Assist guest with the billing. Ensure that guest check out arrangements are in order, and to bid the guest farewell. Maintain guest account in a systematic manner to facilitate balancing a shift end. Be alert of foreign currency, traveler’s cheques and expired credit cards and to notify the Front Office Manager. Check validity of travel agents vouchers. Prepare and balance cash report and remittance envelope at the end of the shift. Maintain the Logbook by recording any information and guest comments. Make appropriate suggestion and recommendations to Front Office Manager for general improvement of the hotel.
