Daily Duties at Gentle Care Services:
Gentle Care Services Director of Nursing/Marketing, 02/2004-02/2007 • In addition to education, twenty years clinically well-rounded medical, or surgical, acute cardiac/respiratory care nursing experience. • In-depth technical knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 coding conventions, DRG and APC assignment, medical terminology and anatomy. • Advanced knowledge of coding/documentation and billing regulations related to commercial, and disability insurance, Medicaid and Medicare. • Knowledge of clinical documentation guidelines, policies and procedures, and the requirements of third party payers most frequently seen with hospital, and home health patient population. • Critical care nursing experience • Financial analysis billing and reimbursement experience. • Analytical ability to gather and interpret data, to evaluate reports and track progress of initiatives and to determine methods for ensuring coding compliance. • High degree of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with physicians, stakeholders, management, and coding staff, and billing departments. • Ability to analyze data for patterns and trends. • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to integrate knowledge. • Excellent observation, communication and decision making abilities. • Ability to prioritize work, focus on completion of tasks and meet deadlines through strong organizational skills. • Demonstrated leadership skills through professionalism as a team player • Ability to use computer systems; computer skills and knowledge of various software packages including database and spreadsheet programs.
