Daily Duties at Georgetown University Medical Center:

Carried out research on Cloning and Expression of dengue virus protease using SUMO peptide fusion technology. Responsible for Cell culture and sub-culture of mammalian cells (vero cells and Baby Hamster Kidney cells), stock preparation of cell lines and their cryopreservation, cell counting, Cloning and sub-cloning of gene for Dengue virus protease, Designed primers for cloning Dengue virus protease, constructed plasmid vectors for cloning experiments, Carried out gene transfer through transfection and transformation, Expressed Dengue Virus Protease using expression vectors and purified using Immobilized metal affinity chromatography, Isolated cloned plasmid DNA, Carried out and standardized Plaque assay for Dengue Virus, Handled PCR (thermal cycler and real time), Gel Electrophoresis (agarose and SDS-PAGE) and Western Blot, operated basic equipments like balances, centrifuges, spectrophotometer and autoclave, carried out the research project in GLP environment and BSL-2 lab setting
