I reported to the Pharmacy Director every day and was given different tasks to familiarize myself with the daily operations of the pharmacy:reading and interpreting doctors orders and entering them into the computer to be filled;called doctor or nurse as necessary for any clarification needed on the order;worked with technicians to become familiar with medication order filling and distribution throughout the hospital - assisted with filling the Pyxus machines on the floors;learned to verify IV orders;did several research projects and gave presentations to the pharmacy staff; and attended several Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings to become familiar with how the hospital stays current with medications and formulary requirements;
