Daily Duties at Hewlett Packard Company (Hp):

Job Hired to Perform: - Evaluate the maturity level a customer's information security program against the ISM Maturity Model(TM). - Assess the level of risk to customer's information assets and recommend risk mitigating solutions. - Assist with the implementation of risk mitigation solutions. - Research solutions that serve to mitigate risk to customer's information assets. - Facilitate IT security workshops for customers to map processes, supporting IT technologies, and determining current security controls. The purpose of these workshops is to determine gaps in the ability of current IT technologies within the organization to support the business process needs. These workshops feed IT strategy and disaster recovery planning. - Work with customers to conduct Business Impact Analysis assisting them in determining Recovery Time and Recovery Point Objectives. - Provide cyber threat intelligence services for various customers. This service evaluates the various threats, threat agents, target attack values, and possible attack vectors of threats to customer's information assets, facilities, and personnel. - Evaluate customer's information security plans, policies, standards, and procedures for possible gaps against compliance regulatory and industry standards. - Conduct IT Audits for customers against various regulatory, industry standards, and frameworks such as SOX, PCI, ISO 27001, NERC CIP, NIST SP 800-53, HIPAA, COBIT, and COSO. - Develop IT security and audit test plans. - Interface with customer's senior executive leadership to determine how an organization's plans, policies, and procedures have been implemented and managed within the organization. - Conduct vulnerability tests for customers. - Formulate and provide solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities. - Prepare evaluation and audit reports. - Prepare and present evaluation results and solutions for customer's senior executive leadership. Typically I briefed these presentations to CISO's, CIO's, CEO's and other senior level managers and planners within the customer's organization. - Present evaluation and audit findings and risk mitigation solution recommendations to customer's senior executive leadership. What I Have Been Tasked With Outside of my Normal Job Role: - Manage information assurance projects when necessary to ensure successful delivery of tasks and products. - Manage project budgets and provide update reports to customers and internal HP leadership. - Determine staffing and resource requirements for various information assurance projects. - Develop and maintain project plans throughout each project. - Provide performance feedback to project team members and their supervisors within HP. - Determine risks to the successful execution of each project managed and formulate mitigating actions to address those risks. - Develop lessons learned for projects I managed and report those to appropriate managers within HP along with recommendations for improvement to address those lessons. - Coordinate with managers of various groups within HP to formulate statements of work we well as solution resource requirements and cost. - Coordinate project tasks and schedules with designated customer points of contact. - Assist research and development group with formulating options to build into remote mobile computing solutions the ability to secure critical data in a mixed mobile computing device environment.
