Daily Duties at Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts Of America:
I was responsible for the overall business operations of the organization. Hiring all staff, ensuring all proper operations procecesses were followed and having growth in membership, financial areas, camping and number of volunteers were the key priorities. The organization had 50 full time employees and four departments within our structure. The department heads answered to me and I gave compentent leadership to them. Within the staff, we had a leadership cabinet of 12 staff members. This was made of senior and middle managers. Giving leadership to this group was a key area to allow them input and career growth on a daily basis. The organization also had 35 working commmittee of volunteers. A committee would be composed of 5-50 volunteers with the committees addressing the different sections of the organization functions. I attended most of the committee meetings and gave strong leadership to the functions, agendas, goals and objectives of each commmittee. I also served as the media spokesperson for the organization and handled all risk management and crisis communications issues. We had an active marketing commmittee of volunteers and two staff who assisted in the development and of our plans.
