Daily Duties at Con Edison Solutions :
As a construction manager, My primary duties begin during a comprehensive energy audit and continue to the end of the construction phase. My responsibilities include site supervision and coordination with clients, design consultants, and subcontractors involved in project construction. I also reviewed contractual obligations, establishes baselines for project scope, cost, and timelines, and performs inspections to verify that construction is in accordance with plans and specifications. Once I was handed a project to start and complete I would review the contract and scope of work to preform. I would then start to compile my construction book which would have a check list of every thing needed to complete the project successfully,(client contract, sub-contractors contracts, work schedule, plans, equipment submittals, close out doc's). Once this was ready to go, I would schedule a kickoff meeting with the client and subcontractor so everyone could meet and then I would go over the contract with them and the work to be preform. We would also discuss scheduling when to start and when to complete and any "hot issues" the client might have. All the projects that I was given to complete were out of state so I would have to travel to them week and spend the week on site and return home on the weekend. So once I arrived on site my daily duties included scheduling the work to be done daily and to make sure sub-contractor was on site and that he had access to site to preform the work. I also would check the daily work preformed and that it followed the scope of work. I would make sure that the subcontractor were working safely and following all OSHA regulations. I would handle any client or sub-contractor issues also if needed. I would write a daily construction report that contain a weather report, subcontractors on site and what time, equipment on site, how much work was completed and id there was any issues. I would have weekly safety meeting with Sub (tool box talks). I would have bi-weekly construction meeting withe the client and subcontractor to discuss scheduling and project progress and any changes that need to be made and any client concerns or issues. At the end of the project I would do a inspection with client to make sure all work was preformed to his satisfaction and the contracts specification, if all was in order I have the client sign closing doc's and turn the paper in to the office for final billing and final closing doc's.
