Daily Duties at Wal Mart Stores, Inc.:

Locations: Auburn, AL (4/1989-2/1994) Sylva, NC (9/1997-11/2005), Monroeville, AL (8/2006) Supervised 9-12 employees in two different PM positions and one Interim position. Duties and legal requirements are same for both positions: insure all licenses and certifications posted, insure proper security for entire pharmacy, and insure proper filling/company protocol.The Over-the-counter (OTC) merchandise was responsibility of PM in early years. The filling process is very similar with different companies but has transitioned with technology to improve workflow, decrease errors and increase customer service. Duties: oversee Rx filling, place & receive medication/OTC orders (manually), paper process all insurance claims, schedule staff according to budget allocation, insure OTC in-stock/displays completed on time. Insure adequate medication stock, security of both controlled narcotics and non controlled meds. Insure returns of out of date meds. Was among first stores to enter all medication inventory into computer: count, order point, and quantity to maintain on hand. This allowed for on-line medication ordering. As advancements made, insurance claims were transmitted on-line. My team embraced these changes and became a “Help” store for others in our district. With routine staff meetings, my team had input into ways to increase sales, increase customer count and procedures that would enhance services. As Mgr, I participated in community events: presentations to local schools, adopting needy families for holidays, sponsoring health clinics: blood drives, bone density screenings, mammograms, blood pressure/cholesterol screenings, inoculation clinics. Reported fraudulent Rxs and worked closely with authorities to apprehend suspect (same person twice in one location). On one such job, the team and I were responsible for apprehension and conviction of a forgery ring, reported to have been working for several years over an entire state. Mentor to pharmacy students from two different universities. Frequently called to cover/assist other company stores. While employed with Wal-Mart 22 years, I frequently did relief for independent pharmacies who did not have regular relief.
