Daily Duties at St . Mary's Regional Medical Center:
bedside nursing, patient care. I worked in the nursing resource pool which means that I was assigned to several different units. I did not know where I was going to be until I got there each day. I assessed, charted, medicated, started IV's, changed dressings, walked patients. I had anywhere from five to nine patients at a time on busy floors. I worked day and night shifts. I was always part of a team of about 10 to 12 people. Some of my patients were on ventilaors, and I often needed to order breathing treatments for several of my patients, so I would call thre respiratory therapists.
