Daily Duties at U.S. Army Installation Management Command:
Serve as the Commanding General (3-Star) senior safety advisor on all safety and occupational health matters. Ensure the safety budget is properly aligned in Management Decision Packages for each of the Command’s seven regions and 77 Garrisons worldwide. Plan and manage the Command safety and occupational health programs and its loss control and risk management efforts. Conduct and participate in staff meetings and briefings to provide concerns and advice on safety and health. Communicate the Command's safety and health goals and objectives to leaders and stakeholders, and translate goals into work plans, objectives and priorities. Establish milestones and time lines for accomplishing programmatic objectives. Lead implementation of numerous safety and health programs and initiatives that provide focus on protecting the life and health of Soldiers, Family Members, and Civilians across the Army worldwide. Formulate safety program services, strategic plans, directives, operational orders, FRAGOs, and safety training to mitigate risk to the workforce and reduce workers compensation claims and costs. Influence military and civilian managers and supervisors and employees at all levels to achieve a safe and efficient work environment. Routinely update the Commanding General and leadership of the safety posture, strengths and weaknesses of the Command Safety Program, emerging enterprise level requirements, and available resources to implement program initiatives to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements. Serve as the Career Program Manager and supervision for nearly 400 diverse safety personnel located worldwide.
