• After one year as a supervisor with Kindred was promoted to Director of Respiratory Therapy. • Worked in level 1 trauma centers around the United States: ICU, Pediatric and Neonatal, helped develop ventilator management, weaning protocols and compliance. • Formulated protocols for tracheostomy care and training for nursing staff, patient and family. Consulted the physician and nursing staff on respiratory procedures. • Spearheaded procedures and marketing strategies to increase revenue. • Designed and conducted in-house staff education programs • Managed supplies ordered including medications used ensuring decreased waste, timely delivery while adherence to physicians order. • Managed updating maintenance records ensuring flawless operation for all equipment use. • Trained new staff, nursing staff, family and patient on in-house equipement and equipment patient is discharged with. Case manager for patients admitted to our facility, discharged to long term care or home care. • Planned and directed the technical aspects of respiratory therapy in regards to service. • Maintained respiratory therapy services in accordance with established standards of the facility and worked under administrative direction from the facility's medical director for respiratory therapy. • Recommended and approved personnel actions (such as hiring, transfers, promotions, and evaluations of personnel). • Influenced the quality and cost-effectiveness of respiratory care, as well as on the prevention of complications and deterioration of respiratory illnesses. • Optimally provided the framework for the Respiratory Care Department. • Education for staff, patient and their family.
