Daily Duties at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation:

Responsible for developing and implementing customer-specific and results-focused sales strategies to meet and exceed sales goals in assigned geographies; responsible for the account management of hospitals, long-term care facilities, infusion centers, oncology units and community mental health centers; drive sales and increase market share through comprehensive analysis and specific customer needs assessments; worked as an individual contributor as well as a team member to promote products. Account management of hospitals involved calling on departments and physicians which could help me move my business and place drugs on formularies; it involved having knowledge of who was important to call on and where I could obtain information to meet my goals of adding drugs to hospital formularies and pulling through business once addition was made. LTC account management involved calling on nursing homes and assisted living centers, conducting in-service programs for staff, educating staff on benefits of medications and how they can help patients in the long-term care environment Infusion centers were sometime spart of the hospital, as were oncology centers, where physicians sent patients to be infused with Reclast, a once-a-year product for osteoporosis; I did trouble-shooting with staff over referrals and insurance reimbursement and was the liaison between drs offices and the infusion center to ensure patients arrived with all the necessary information to be infused. The same applied to community mental health cenetrs - Exelon Patch is a transdermal patch for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease dementia, which psychiatrists use in addition to anti-pyschotics and anti-depressants I used physician-level data to to customize business plans on how I was going to grow business as it related to goals assigned by the company; these plans involved speaker programs, call coverage, Lists of important drs to see and resources available from the company to assist in the promotion of products.
