Daily Duties at My Sister’s House:

PROVIDED FULL RANGE OF THERAPY SERVICES as a member of the interdisciplinary team serving My Sister’s House, a shelter for domestic violence and sexual abuse victims. Served as Adult Therapist, Supervisor of Graduate Interns, Group Therapy Facilitator, Domestic Victim Advocate and Manager of Victim Services. CRISIS INTERVENTION / CASE MANAGEMENT: Conducted intake consultations to assess the nature and severity of the presenting problem and prioritized client treatment needs. Provided direct crisis intervention, mediation and counseling, advocacy, referrals and direct services to victims. Conducted individual therapy sessions; assisted the shelter in managing calls on the crisis line; and provided intake assessments, case management, case planning and exit management. Coordinated community resources based on community knowledge of available services. DEMONSTRATED TECHNICAL SKILLS in the areas of stress management, conflict management, grief, loss, alcohol/drug/substance abuse, family issues, divorce, sexual abuse, trauma, domestic violence and mental health issues to identify best options for therapy to resolve client issues.
