Immediately developed a strategy to ensure all locations adhered to the same corporate policies. Worked diligently to slash employee turnover, push safety to a new level, eliminate sexual harassment issues, and accelerate employee relations across the corporation. Fast-paced HR role revolved around benefits administration, 401(k) plan design and oversight, Workers Compensation, HR policies, procedures, programs, and best practices, Internet and traditional recruiting programs, career succession planning, state and federal law compliance, employee training program development, management workshop development and facilitation, HRIS and payroll systems management, and complex employee problem solving. Successful in organizational development and evaluations, HR thought leadership, employee performance management, project management, consultant and broker collaboration, and HIPAA, ADA, EEO, COBRA, FMLA, and AA program management. Designed plan that saved $60,000 per year by eliminating agreements with temporary staffing agencies. Launched an aggressive recruiting program and developed key employee incentives to attract high-caliber talent. Initiated a self-insured Workers Compensation program in Utah and Alabama that slashed lost time employee accidents 60%. Supported program by securing a $6,000 grant for pre-employment and post-accident drug screening activities. Modified employee benefit plans that either maintained or improved benefits, and saved $125,000 in two years. Addressed a training gap by creating robust management and supervisor leadership training programs attended by 85 professionals. No lawsuits were filed against the company for a three-year period. Presided over safety, OSHA, security, and investigation activities across the enterprise, and successfully thwarted an union attempt at an Alabama facility. Member of senior team that closed business and three locations, and identified job resources for displaced employees. 60% of non-exempt employees and 45% of exempt employees were able to quickly find other opportunities. Shut down the employee benefits program including the 401(k) plan and healthcare insurance. Collaborated with a third-party company selected by bank officials during all business shutdown activities.
