Daily Duties at Clinical Center Of Sarajevo University, Eye Department:

Management of Opthalmic Diagnostic Department Mentoring Students ad Residents, Management of ophthalmic conditions, taking into account both medical and psychological aspects of patient care; Management of busy general outpatient clinics, emergency eye clinics and specialist clinics Management of ophthalmological disorders using therapeutic procedures, such as laser therapy and intraocular and periocular injections; Perform glaucoma, cataract and eyelids surgery Working as part of multi-disciplinary team that includes optometrist, orthoptist and nurses; Collaboration with other specialist, including Diabetologist, neurologist, ENT, maxillofacial surgeons, pediatricians, amongst others; Communicating and empathizing with patients and family members; Educating patients to understand their medical condition; Supporting health promotion and disease prevention activities; Instruct patient/family regarding medications and treatments; Educate patients regarding health and illness prevention; Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs; Provide continuity of patient care in collaboration with other health care professionals; Document patient information and care provided in patient record and maintain statistics; Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures; Interpret and integrate data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan; Contribute to the development of excellence in clinical practice through working in activities that contribute to education and research; Utilizes research and evidence-based practice to support improvement including but not limited to capacity management;
