Daily Duties at Florida Department Of Children And Families:

Statewide administration for Child Welfare, the Child Abuse Hotline, Child Care, Homelessness, and Domestic Violence programs in the state of Florida (350 employees). Cultivate a continuous learning culture through professional development training and curricula. Plan and execute agency strategic plan as part of senior leadership team. Develop and implement monthly business plans for each program area.
Direct the statewide Child Welfare Leadership Program (employees) and Youth Leadership Academy (children in state custody) to promote excellence. Assisting statewide regional HR teams to identify high potential talent, provide training opportunities, promote succession planning, and fully utilize career lattice across service programs. Promote accountability across the Department’s matrix-based structure through meaningful communication and procedure development. Maintain accountability through quality assurance across programs. Develop and manage policy to define the intent of the Florida Legislature and Department Secretary. Lobby and consult with the Florida Legislature. Establish annual budgets for each program area ($1.37 billion in total).
