Daily Duties at California Polytechnic State University:
Provide information, guidance, and services to faculty, administrators, and senior staff engaged in obtaining extramural funding for research, curriculum development, and community service projects. Lead campus proposal processing and capture of awards through negotiations and definitization of contracts, subcontracts, and grants (private, state, and federal). Administer nondisclosure agreements, memorandums of understanding and other contracting vehicles. Total award revenue of $25 million and proposal submissions of 350 last year represents a 30% increase in awards and 45% increase in proposal activity during my tenure. Seek funding sources, connect with faculty including recommending teaming arrangements, and facilitate interdisciplinary submissions on behalf of the University. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external campus clients to capitalize on existing resources, clarify guidelines, and demystify submission requirements maximizing federal, state, corporate, foundation, and other private funding opportunities. Supervise staff of 6.
