Daily Duties at Us Air Force (Active Duty Military):

Job Requirement: The Visual Information Career Field encompasses all service, production-documentation, and photoprocessing functions associated with visual information library, presentations, editorial, graphics, conventional and technical still photography, optical instrumentation, motion picture photography, television, and sound recording. Included are armament recording and other non-reconnaissance airborne image acquisition functions and base, dedicated mission, or reconnaissance photo-processing. Accomplished work: Performed all visual information editorial functions of motion picture film capturing every ballistic missile launch at Vandenberg AFB, during the working time period. Reviewed, edited, and determined all pertinent visual information data for value and meeting customer requirements. Identified, reduced motion picture film to individual scenes, and assembled in proper order. Color corrected, cleaned, and printed all motion picture film. Operated and trained others on print production equipment, including projection and optical printers. Determined film materials, printing methods, and exposure requirements. Ensured printers were set to obtain optimum image size, sharpness, and color balance. Performed preventive maintenance on all imagery equipment. Kept inventory of all motion picture film in accordance with each camera reel, each ballistic missile launch, what desired portions went to each customer, and the total amount of completed production. In addition to the motion picture work, performed monthly alert still photography, which worked with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) to respond and photograph forensic images of accidents for accident reconstruction, sexual assault cases, domestic/child abuse cases, and suicide/homicide cases for investigative purposes.
