Daily Duties at Us Air Force (Active Duty Military):
Job Requirement: The Visual Information Career Field encompasses all service, production-documentation, and photoprocessing functions associated with visual information library, presentations, editorial, graphics, conventional and technical still photography, optical instrumentation, motion picture photography, television, and sound recording. Included are armament recording and other non-reconnaissance airborne image acquisition functions and base, dedicated mission, or reconnaissance photo-processing. Accomplished work: Routinely conducted forensic photography in support of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI), which responded and took images of accidents for accident reconstruction, sexual assault cases, domestic/child abuse cases, and suicide/homicide cases for investigative purposes. Operated and manned the customer service operations taking in all base level requirements, scheduling them, and assigning them to photographers in support of Public Affairs, Office of Special Investigations, and in all contingency/special missions. Coordinated product and image requests with customers, and maintained database capturing when jobs were completed and products provided to customer. Prepared photographic assignments, acquired imagery/photographs, applied principles of composition in taking photographs in controlled and uncontrolled environments. Accomplished photo journalism in support of base paper, which obtained data for story requested, took photographs, and wrote captions and cover stories. Selected and cropped pictures for layouts and picture stories, using Photoshop software. Designed, planned, and prepared graphic images, special displays, and exhibits for direct viewing, printing, and reproduction. Performed photographic digital imaging, as well as processing of reversal, original negative, master negative, duplicate negative and prints. Selected, inspected, and tested camera, film, and photographic processing systems. Operated and adjusted photographic processors to ensure processing parameters are maintained. Evaluated processed imagery for physical or chemical defects, and made corrective actions.
