Daily Duties at Montana State University:

• Accountant for the Animal and Range Sciences Department. • Responsible for the accounting and fiscal management of approximately 160+/- fund accounts consisting of Federal, State, Extension, Agricultural Experiment Station, and private funds. • Directly supervised one part-time employee. • Independently volunteered to beta test a Microsoft Access shadow accounting system. • Volunteered to train other department accountants on this new system through monthly class offerings and one-on-one instruction. • More than 50 department accountants were educated on this new accounting system on an on-going basis in an effort to improve the effectiveness and augment the timeliness and accuracy of the SCT Banner accounting system. • Reconciled all 160+ funds within two business days of month end to provide accurate and up-to-date financial statements to department professors and their staff.
