Daily Duties at Wendy's Internaional:
Manage district made up of 6-8 locations totaling approximately $15,000,000 annually. HR Sourcing, interviewing, hiring staff for district. Follow up on Personal development plans of all managers, especially those that have been targeted for the next position within 90 days. Manage Turnover to Company goals by hiring appropriate candidates; ensuring that effective training and development is taking place in all units; relationship building during store visits; effective execution of Employment Promises in all stores; effective resolution of all speakouts. Complete annual performance appraisals on all direct reports; Review and approve appraisals GMs complete on all store level management. Conduct HR audits quarterly to ensure all Federal, State and local labor laws are followed; all employee files are completed properly and maintained. Ensure all locations meet maintain proper staffing levels. Ensure that they have staffing and retention plans in place in order to accomplish this. Meet or exceed company goals in each store for all key operational metrics including SOE scores; cleanliness; food safety; Guest Courtesy; Inside and PUW SOS; Food quality and hospitality. Conduct Operational evaluations during scheduled store visits utilizing company tools such as walk-through feedback forms; Questar guest courtesy reports; core system evaluation forms; Store cleanliness evaluation; Sparkle Operators Evaluation (done quarterly). Follow up on notes from previous visit. Provide on line coaching and praise. Address critical issues immediately; provide manager on duty with a recap of observations and a copy of the form at the end of the visit. Contract with manager on specific actions to be taken. Review store plan; verify agreed upon actions are being taken and assess progress. Review key Metrics daily for each store. Recognize performances at or exceeding the standard and investigate issues. (Metrics include – sales versus prior year and transactions versus prior year; labor hour variance; OT; PUW and inside a speed of service; cash metrics; target variances; guest complaints/compliments). Responsible for all line items of P&L through the “Profit before Occupancy Line”. Review weekly and monthly P&L statements prepared by GMs. Have one on one discussions with each, recognizing improvement and those categories meeting or exceeding the standard; addressing those not at standard. Assist the GMs in the problem solving process to ensure they identify the correct problems and their causes and then develop and implement solutions. Utilize Back office reports to assist them in this process. Monitor actions being taken and improvements that are being made. Address performance issues as necessary. Follow up on this during all store visits. Utilize company training systems and on line observations and feedback to assist the store management address issues. Ensure that all stores effectively implement and execute all national marketing plans and programs including new products. Plan and execute the training and roll out of these plans and products utilizing a base store approach. Follow up to ensure that all GMs conduct proper training in their stores and then complete New marketing plan/product evaluation on each store within the set time line. Evaluation includes review of menuboards; POP placement; Procedural execution for new products; …etc. Conduct monthly Store Level Business Reviews with each team. Utilize information from this to assess their progress on existing store priorities; ensure that the current store plan is addressing these priorities and is being executed effectively; make changes to plan as needed; gather input and feedback from all team members; contract on action steps for the next month. Complete all required Area admin to include daily metric update with explanations; weekly P&L update with explanations and action steps to address outliers; monthly P&L analysis with explanations and plans to address outliers. Attend weekly DM meetings. Provide updates on district performance regarding metrics; man power planning updates; …etc. Support Area as needed with manpower help; coordinate the Area training and roll out of selected products and procedures. Support Company with franchise community by providing training as needed for product and procedural roll outs.
