Daily Duties at Gateway Surgery Center:

Get patients ready for surgery by doing pre-op assessment by asking if they had anything to eat or drink after midnight, if they took there medications if ordered by the doctor,listen to breath sounds,check there temperature and a manuel BP,give pre-op medications P.O.,consent signed.Helping patient and family members fill more at easy by playing games with children by using some of the equipment that they may see during there surgery.Gave children a small stuff animal.Post-op recover patient by doing frequent assessments,give medications as needed I.V OR P.O as needed for pain, give discharge instructions about how they might feel, things they could eat and calling us or doctor if they had any questions when they got home.Charge Nurse as needed.
