Daily Duties at University Of Maryland, College Park:

The AVP/Marketing and Communications asked me to expand the successful university communications program that I built into a larger program of public affairs initiative that included university-wide communications, external relations, and crisis communications, presidential national positioning, and public affairs counsel to senior and departmental leadership. A significant component of my responsibilities included presidential positioning on the national landscape, and issues management that anticipates and advises the president and his senior leadership team on a range of communications and stakeholder issues – both internal and external. I was also asked to integrate communications and public affairs functions into marketing and fundraising initiatives.

What they like about University Of Maryland, College Park:

You highly value a work environment built on a formal structure, rules, and regulations. You do not enjoy the unpredictability of shifting priorities and deadlines that upset your routine. You require and enjoy direction, input and accountability as part of your work environment. You have a strong need to participate in making key decisions and feel left out if your superiors or co-workers do not seek your input when making decisions. You thrive on providing good customer service to both internal or external customers, and doing so makes you feel good.
