Daily Duties at Ford Motor Company Automotive Components Holdings Division:
Managed the day to day quality issues of 54 of our steering systems department supply base. Customer main point of contact for all issues related to the 54 suppliers under my direction. Performed on site reviews and PPAP approvals of all running production changes incurred such as major corrective action implementations like launching a new tool and/or machinery. Review, provide feedback and approve our Production Part Approval Process (PPAP’s) legal documentation for each supplier component as needed due to design driven changes, cost reductions driven changes and re-sourcing of sub suppliers components. Performed high impact supplier on site visits for audit purposes. Performed supplier visits with members of my cross functional team in order to provide support and resources to help the supplier resolve complex production issues. Review in detail with the supplier, the 8Ds for each Quality Reject (QR) issued by the customer plants. Delivered final suppliers 8Ds within the 2 weeks deadline to our customer plants. Performed Production Part Approval Process (PPAP’s) for ongoing production process changes as a result of design changes, corrective actions improvements, cost reductions or moving and resourcing a product of a supplier in distress.
