Daily Duties at Missouri Basin Well Services :
The primary job function is to work with company employees; dispatchers, drivers and mechanics to prevent incidents through: coaching, mentoring, training, encouraging, teaching, and any other means needed to ensure each employee understands the critical nature of being safe while performing their duties. Secondary to the primary function, is to work incident scenes as they occur as directed by the Field Safety Manager or Lead FSR, taking statements, photographs, etc Ensuring scene preservation and working the incident through to completion. Responsible for all aspects of compliance to the MBI Energy Services Safety, Health and Environment Policy and Procedure manual, DOT compliance, OSHA compliance and EPA Compliance. This position requires a great deal of driving. As an FSR you are the representative of MBI Energy Services that the employees and the public see. As a representative of MBI Energy Services you have the responsibility to be an example and leader to our employees and to assure our employees are following the policies and procedures that have been established by MBI Energy Services and the Safety Team. As a team Member and a FSR your goal is to have everyone return home at the end of the day in the same condition that they came to work in. This is accomplished though coaching, mentoring, training, and encouraging each employee to understand the critical nature of being safe while performing their duties. This means that as an FSR you must always set the proper example in your appearance, actions and discussions with all you come in contact with. Always be courteous yet direct when dealing with failures to follow policies or procedures. Make the individual understand the hazards involved in the actions they are taking and how this could affect not only themselves, but so many others dose to them. If the situation needs further corrective actions, these can be referred to your Lead FSR or Field Safety Manager As an FSR you will conduct yourself as a professional. Lead by your example. Show proper respect for all our employees and treat others as you would like to be treated. Some areas where you have special responsibilities and obligations are as follows: Have, care for, and use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); which includes but is not limited to: • H2S Monitors, Hardhat, Safety Glasses, Gloves, Steel Toed Boots, FRCs. • All PPE in to be kept clean and worn properly. Perform field audits of all MBI Energy Services locations and facilities (i.e. yrd, SWD, fresh water locations) insuring drivers are following ALL safety training guidelines, especially • Proper Pretrip and Post trip inspections • Safe entry and exit of truck (3 points of contact and backing out of vehicle) • Proper use and wear of PPE • Properly completed JSA and other paperwork • Wheel chocks down whenever they are out of cab no matter where they are • Complete "Check 6" walk around before leaving locations no matter where they are • Speed limits (as posted or slower depending on conditions) • No Smoking on any location • No cell phone use on location or while driving • Following Loading and Unloading procedures with special attention to hose connections and having valves in proper position • Proper use of hose ear locking devices (i.e. Velcro strap, plastic ear clips) When dispatched to an incident by dispatch, your Lead FSR or Field Safety Manager, make sure you get the following Information: • Involved person's name • Contact information i.e. phone number • MBI employee or Contractor • Location and directions • Call person involved and get brief statement of what is involved and give estimated time that you will be on scene • lnstruct all persons involved to remain on scene until you arrive and release them • Send out appropriate email that you are responding and include all necessary information. Perform incident investigations as assigned by Lead FSR or Field Safety Manager • Ensuring scene preservation • Taking statements of involved individuals (driver, witness, cleanup crew) • Taking photographs ofthe incident • Completing all reports in a timely manner and turning over evidence and materials to either the Lead FSR or Safety Investigator Yard • Observe and identify possible hazards, such as tripping, fire or other hazards that may cause injury or damage • Pre and Post trip inspection • Proper use of PPE • Properly using entrance and exit procedures and observing speed limits • Proper parking of personal vehicles and following the yard parking assignments Dispatch • Check in daily with dispatch for: • locations of concern or heavy activity • roads and weather conditions, incidents that were reported to them Locations • Filling out your own JSA • Checking for hazards and incidents • Checking that drivers are in compliance with MBI Energy Services policies and procedures • Training drivers in various subjects as directed by your Lead FSR or Field Safety Manager Incidents • Securing the area with caution tape to prevent further spread of contaminates or injury. • Determine ifthe area is safe and what immediate actions need to be taken to preserve life and equipment • Conduct initial interviews with all persons on the scene to determine causes and do written statements • Start incident reports by having all persons involved complete written statement forms and collect all information and documents that are needed before anyone is allowed to leave the scene 1. Check drivers logs and DVIR 2. Check and keep drivers JSA • Take photos and measurements to determine quantity spilled or cause of incident • Report all findings to your Lead FSR or Field Safety Manager The following Information is required when you do your email updates from incident scene 1. Drivers full name and contact Information 2. Other involved person's name and contact information 3. MBI employee or contractor 4. Incident type i.e. spill, accident, injury 5. Quantity spilled/damage/type of injury 6. Substance involved i.e. oiI/fresh water/salt water/invert 7. Customer name and location and contact Information 8. If company person is on location, their name and contact information 9. Cleanup status and follow up plan
