Daily Duties at Rjf International Corporation:

In September 2008, I was promoted to Shipping/Warehouse Manager in an attempt to correct a struggling department. Although I had no direct experience in the Logistices field, I had, in the first ten years of service as a lead production supervisor, built a reputation for dependability and competence, while also establishing confidence with my superiors, peers and workers through my accomplishments, and was known for accomplishing any task assigned to me. During that time, inventory accuracy improved from 72% when I started to 100% for 30 consecutive months. On-time delivery also improved from 69% to 100% for the past twenty-nine months. This on-time delivery improvement allowed the company to retain a 35 million dollar, three year contract with a certain customer. My daily routine started at 7:30am getting into the warehouse and checking the dock for any missed shipments and following up with my traffic coordinator if there were. I then released any orders that the CSR's sent since the previous day. I then routed the orders, put them in the box to be pulled and prepared by my pickers, and alerted my traffic coordinator to align trucks for the shipments. This process continued throughout the day. At the start of shift 7:50am, I would give a brief safety talk and prep for the days work to all my workers. Then I would look at the production schedule for the 6 machines I was also responsible and prioritize the schedule. At 9:00am I had a staff meeting. The rest of the day would consist of checking shipments to make sure the order was filled correctly, checking on productgion to ensure they were meeting quota's, complete a section of inventory, do a safety audit on a worker and the cleanliness of the warehouse, compare the master schedule to the two week forecast to ensure material will be made in time to meet shipping deadline. I personally monitored all government orders and 3 other large accounts to ensure on-time shipments, keeping close communications with the CSR's and the customers themselves. Prepared a weekly summary of both production and shipment details, with action plans for improvement if necessary. I performed yearly appraisals on my four salaried personnel. I worked closely with my administrative clerk and shipping coordinator ensuring all is running smoothly and giving further training and mentoring when needed. Issued progressive discipline when warranted. I had weekly phone meetings with the Vice President of Production discussing strategies for process improvements, updates on special accounts and other miscellaneous items. Negotiated with Truck Reps for price improvements and graded the each firm yearly on quality of service to keep in standard with ISO9001 procedures. Assisted my Manager with establishing a yearly budget of $500,000 for my department and reviewed monthly the P&L statement. During this time, I handled all the requirements needed for the movement of manufacturing equipment from the main factory to the warehouse, personally handled the inventory accountability and transfer from the liquidation sale of two of our largest lines of products. One line consisted of 12 full truckloads and the other was 17 full truckloads. this was accomplished with zero missing material and deliveries and finalization of sale on time. I re-organized the entire warehouse making it safer and more efficient. My crews safety record was flawless in the 46 months I was in charge. I was certified to train Industrial powered equipment and re-trained 22 personnel every two years for their re-certification.I also was a member of the Company-Union Safety committee and a member of the contract talks for union contract changes. I assigned and oversaw all required maintenance for my department. I performed monthly housekeeping audits, turned in work tickets when needed, and followed-up to ensure they were corrected. I conducted emergency evacuation drills semi-annually and facilitated monthly crew safety meetings in accordance with OHSA standards. I participated in the initial start up of ISO9001 and did periodical audits when required. I wrote, updated and covered all JSA safety procedures yearly with crews pertinent to my department.
