Daily Duties at State Farm Insurance:
--Initially hired as Finance Trainee to support regional Finance functions (General Expense, Cash Management, Audit, Agency Compensation) -- Conducted internal audits to determine if procedures were being followed and reported findings to management -- Suggested enhancements to procedures to improve efficiency or to match to changes in processes -- Promoted to a Finance Analyst after completing the State Farm Finance Trainee Development program which included training in all functional units, a Management Development Program, and system specific training -- Support the unit supervisor and act as the unit supervisor during the supervisors absence. Attend management planning meetings to participate in department planning -- Conducted agent premium fund account audits to determine if agents were properly handling funds received and making the funds available for withdrawal by State Farm. During the initial phases of the program, helped to identify how often to audit, what audit materials were necessary, severity of findings and the communication process for findings. -- Trained on State Farm Process Improvement to be a vital resource for business partner reviews. -- Approve journal entries, error corrections and ACHs necessary to complete daily transaction processing. -- Proactively identify business partner needs and present information to business partners for decision making. -- Assist in confidential matters such as travel reimbursement reviews related to questionable activities. Provide details and analysis necessary to address concerns. -- First point of contact for Vice Presidents and all reporting management for anything Finance related. Included budget & planning, resource identification, custom reports, presentations, and project work. -- Develop business acumen amongst peers and zone. Look for opportunities to share work with peers and to present topics to business partners to increase business knowledge. -- Mentor new analysts to help them develop skills by coordinating a training schedule, meeting regularly to discuss development and assist with issues they may experience.
