Daily Duties at Oklahoma State University Health Services:

Responsible for the division of Nursing; Provides leadership, guidance and direction to employees. Selects qualified workers, ensures proper training and guidance on policies and procedures. Coordinates nursing department functions with all other departments and services. Coordinates, implements and evaluates compliance requirements. Confers with Medical Staff regarding overall general nursing care, maintains a system for providing medical supplies for the clinic. Projects department personnel requirements, plans and organizes work schedules, responsible for interviewing personnel and orientation and training of all new hires. Develops and maintains an effective system of clinical and nursing records and reports. Coordinates the Quality Assurance Committee and provides significant contribution to this affect and provides key support of this effort, leading to successful accreditation's. Responsible for Infection Control and Employees Health for all clinic employees. Serves as a resource for campus in addressing health care needs within the University. Liaison with both the County and State Health Department of Health. We see a lot of public health in our clinic and I work closely with the health department in the management of multiple public health situations. I participate with Langston University to allow on-site training for their RN nursing program. I have a wide scope of responsibility.
