• Studied various proposals and underwrote new business. • Prepared general indemnity contracts • Reviewed and Analyzed corporate and personal financial data • Determined risk and calculated premiums using actuarial data and other statistics. • Liaised with specialists to acquire additional information and reports for risk assessment, Obtains credit reports, makes reference checks and performs credit checks • Performed financial analysis on balance sheets, income statements and statements of cash flows • Ability to understand and analyze financial, market and economic data to identify trends and determine causes and potential impact • Maintained constructive and professional written and verbal communications with all principals, agents, brokers and clients • Conducted meetings with clients where business and financial goals are established, Negotiates terms with brokers/policy holders and draws up contracts. • Supported long and short-term business strategies. • Supported profitable growth and expense management goals. • Set up new and maintain existing financial files; bond files agency files and power of attorney files. • Responsible for completing financial reporting, including reconciling monthly production and annual audit of financial files to ensure timeliness and completeness of updates from agents and brokers • Addressed any problems or delays with clients and recommended specific measures to address potential concerns. • Developed account service strategies while balancing firm and branch objectives. • Identified, developed and evaluated marketing strategy based on knowledge of establishment objectives and market characteristics. • Maintained a working knowledge of industry structure, potential barriers to entry and solutions • Documented every aspect of the business process, activity, and operation to assure quality and assist with the internal audit process • Ensured that services, procedures and operations systems comply with industry regulations, specifications, or conditions imposed by the industry and the California State Department of Insurance • Supported and underwrote a branch book that was approximately 95% contract surety and 5% commercial surety • Specialized in mid to large sized contract accounts of all trades, with an average contract account producing 10-30 million dollars a year in revenue, with minimum working capital in the $500M dollar range and working capital equal to approximately 15% of the total aggregate program. • Under local authority, considered program support parameters of $1MM single over 3.5MM aggregate.
