Daily Duties at Keystone Consulting Group:
For 20 years I ran my own consulting business establishing business plans, hiring staff and developing classroom curriculum for leadership and development training workshops, which I then facilitated on-site. For half of those years, I provided coaching and leadership workshops and consultation to businesses. For seven of those years, I was a lead trainer, coach and consultant for Hewlett-Packard Company (HP), working with HR teams in several countries to roll out my company’s flagship course Optimal Performance Coaching (OPC), a two-day workshop delivered to more than 3,000 managers and high-performing individual contributors. With my then-business partner, we conducted more than 70 of these workshops in North and South America, Canada, India, and Mexico. Later, we developed the curriculum for an equally popular and effective workshop, Sales and Organizational Leadership Development (SOLD) for HP sales managers serving these same countries. During this time, I also personally coached many managers at numerous corporations on goals related to their 360-degree feedback, participated as a mentor to them, assisted human resources staff in their succession planning efforts, and facilitated all workshops and “learning labs” related to our coaching and leadership development programs, making sure all deliverables were of top-notch quality and within budget. Additionally, while working for HP, I trained managers in conflict resolution issues during their large-scale change initiative to merge with Compaq.
