Daily Duties at Monsanto Company:

•Perform various assays including PCR, FISH, flow cytometry and imaging analysis •Maintain a high volume of maize culture suspensions, prepare broth media, harvest maize embryo tissue for culturing and track growth via imaging, flow cytometry and microscopy •Create and maintain team's large inventory of maize seeds using MASTER •Prepare frequently used solutions and doubling agents for the use by all of the technicians in the lab •Lead experiments outlined by the head scientist. Manage tasks and technicians for each project from initiation to completion. Some project development required •Greenhouse work includes maintaining plants at all stages of development including planting seedlings, watering, fertilizing and pollinating plants. •Proficient in Microsoft Office, LIMS, and other data processing and presentation tools to meet continuous time-sensitive deadlines •Prepare and review Job Safety Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures •Maintain team’s purchase inventory of IMPAC and credit card records
