Daily Duties at The Alliance For World Class Communities:

As President & CEO, worked with Chairman and Board of Directors to provide the direction and leadership in the development, management and implementation of the organization's multiple strategic plans. This included the Harbor Shores development of which I was co-manager and the public relations resource. Harbors Shores is a 530 acre, multi-jurisdictional development that includes a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course (recently hosted Senior PGA event in May, 2012, relocation of a portion of Whirlpool Corporation's corporate HQ, residential development and a planned hotel and restaurant development. Project included working with NPS, DNR, Army Corps of Engineers, Governor of Michichan and numerous other entities and political figures. Note, my role evolved over the six years with the organization from President and Executive Director of the Council for World-Class Communities to President & CEO of the Alliance. I served a dual role as a Harbor Shores Trustee and manager responsible for government sector activities of the project while I served as CEO of the Alliance. I reported directly to the Chairman & CEO of Whirlpool Corporation during my tenure. Direct reports including 4 executive vice presidents and staff ranging from 25-40 individuals at any given time.

What they like about The Alliance For World Class Communities:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
