Nurse Practitioner, neurology specialty, patient assessment, neurological, new patient health assessments and review of systems as well as re-exams focusing on evaluation of improvement of systems through health interventions. Primary in prescribing appropriate medications and ordering medical and paramedical treatments for new patients; diagnose and determine treatment by examining brain and neck nerves, muscle strength, movement, balance, reflexes and a patient's speech; able to treat problems of the central, autonomous, and peripheral nervous systems, and of those systems’ respective coverings, including effector tissues like muscles and blood vessels; diagnose and treat include cognitive/behavioral syndromes, epilepsy, traumatic injuries of the brain, cerebrovascular diseases like strokes, sleep disorders (including insomnia), cerebral palsy, encephalitis, infections that occur in the peripheral nervous system, tumors in the brain and spinal cord, multiple sclerosis, neurodegenerative disorders (including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Huntington’s disease), meningitis, myelitis, movement disorders (including Gilles de la Tourette syndrome, tic disorder, and hemiballismus), altered mental higher status, coma, stupor, and encephalopathy; treat neurological disorders for which there are no apparent physiological causes
