Daily Duties at Couteaux Review:
Was in charge of a team of at least 8 writers. It was my job to research and assign topics for our team to write about. I was in charge of editing their work, sending it back to them, formatting it the way I wanted it for final production and then sending it off to Jason Kwon, the guy who started the website. He was a former chef who wanted to create a website that would be focused on sustainable food practices, restaurants, etc. I had my own seasonal ingredients column where I could write about whatever I wanted, edited the articles myself, etc. In addition, I was able to land several interviews with many accomplished US chefs including Chef David Kinch, Chef Homaro Cantu, Chef Richard Brandenburg, Chef Mike Isabella and others either over the phone or in person. I was also sent to a few events to scope out the food scene, one of them being the metropolitan cooking and entertainment show.
What they like about Couteaux Review:
Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
