Daily Duties at Todd Gray's Watershed/Equinox Restaurant:

• Initial contact and greeter at a restaurant opened by a RAMMY award-winning chef of the year in 2011 • I also was in charge of taking all room service orders, as the restaurant was in a hotel so I had a lot of interface with hotel guests as well as restaurant customers • Assist in special events and banquets for high profile clientele from members of Congress to National Organizations - this involved creating brochures and pamphlets to hand out to customers and to the neighborhood. At events, I was in charge of checking in guests, maintaining guest list, processing payments for the event if payment was taken onsite, also in charge of organizing event seating and assisting in the management of servers and bussers throughout the event. • I assisted in the set up and worked events such as Todd Gray's table at the 2011 Capital Food Fight, his table at the Chef Showcase at IFEC Annual Conference where we represented "Lamb" and I did the marketing for both the product and the restaurant, VIP Tables at the Sugar and Champagne Affair, Sunday Suppers and Saturday Night Sips (where we would go to homes of high paying donors and cook a 5 course meal with anotehr accomplished chef), the RAMW Holiday Party, as well as multiple Oyster Roasts and Fish Fries at the restaurant. • Social Media Assistant • Assist co-owner with daily social media output on Twitter and Facebook to promote restaurant events and specials • Epicurean Work: Participate in recipe testing, preparation, and staging for the photo shoot for Chef Todd Gray’s first cookbook; kitchen apprentice to Chef Todd Gray acquiring food preparation skills and kitchen etiquette

What they like about Todd Gray's Watershed/Equinox Restaurant:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
