Daily Duties at Mount Sinai School Of Medicine :
• Assisted with mentoring process for junior research faculty in the areas of: identifying grant funding, proposal writing and submission, regulatory requirements for conducting human subject research, and pre- and post-award project management. Assisted with submission of over 40 federal, local government and foundation sponsored projects totaling over $10M. • Created four new positions within division to provide general administrative and project support for research portfolio. Hired over ten research support staff: Project Managers, Research Coordinators, Research Assistants, Database Managers, and Research Programmers. • Developed database to track number of new hires and assess future strategic needs in research for the Division. • Created and administered Project Manager and Research Assistant training programs to standardize grant submission process, fiscal oversight of awards, data entry methods, data security, informed consent of research subjects, staff management, and project close-out procedures. • Project Manager for first implementation study integrating an electronic tool into Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Designed evaluation of tool implementation for phase 2 of the study using simulated patients and developed data reporting programs using SAS from Clarity data abstracts. • Managed first randomized control trial that assessed a patient-physician communication tool. Designed study surveys, trained Research Assistant to generate tracking databases using MSAccess, and abstracted survey data for investigator.
