Daily Duties at Division Of Criminal Justice :
Hired to oversee the training function of the State’s Juvenile Violence Delinquency Prevention Initiative. Hired to training and technical assistance to 13 communities engaged in the prevention initiative aimed at reducing substance abuse, teen pregnancy, school-drop-out & violence. Tasks • Worked with communities in forming key leader community prevention boards. • Provided training & technical assistance to 13 communities to increase their capacity of engaging in a long-term prevention process. • Conducted large-scale data-driven risk assessments to determine levels of substance abuse, teen pregnancy, school drop-out & violence. • Conducted extensive community resource and asset assessments to determine current gaps in programs and services. • Worked with community prevention boards to develop comprehensive, outcome-based strategic plans to reduce identified risk factors and address gaps in service. • Provided capacity-building to assist communities to implement their strategic plans. • Worked with community members to create an infrastructure that ensured all county resource allocation and policy development were in alignment with county violence prevention plans.
