Daily Duties at Washington Coalition Of Sexual Assault Programs:
Hired to develop a training strategy to ensure that all 42 rape crisis centers met with the state’s core standards and compliance guidelines. Hired to develop training curriculum, training tools, provide technical assistance and capacity building. Tasks Training • Using the ADDIE approach, conducted training needs, audience, content and structural analysis to determine learning objectives, target population needs and priorities. • Designed, developed, implemented and delivered 40-hour sexual assault training curriculum using a highly interactive, participant-centered training approach • Designed all storyboards, trainer’s guides, participant guides, learning tools, exercises, handouts) and facilitated 6 times per year. • Designed & delivered 3-day Train-the-Trainer series to teach local programs how to effectively conduct their own volunteer training programs. . Developed E-learning modules and webinars on various topics. • Measured impact of training interventions on organizational results by analyzing before/after change in key indicators. Recommended training interventions to improve operational effectiveness and encourage skill broadening. • Researched training needs, designed the program and earned consensus and funding for the state’s first 30-hour culturally and linguistically relevant training that educated historically marginalized communities. • Handled training budgets, timelines and production schedules. • Approved 42 rape crisis center’s volunteer training curriculum to ensure compliance with state guidelines and annual CEU approval for advocates. Technical Assistance/Capacity-Building • Served as point of contact for technical assistance, capacity building, best practices and customer service for leadership and staff for 42 rape crisis, domestic violence and child advocacy centers. • Facilitated state-wide meetings, training and educational sessions and conducted forums & focus groups for advocates. • Collaborated with the Department of Public Health in formulating meaningful and effective curriculum teaching medical providers how to screen for sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence. • Developed written materials for Washington State Board of Education to educate teachers, parents and the community on the reentry of juvenile sex offenders into the statewide school system. Project Management/Special Projects • Author the state’s first manual on “Conducting Effective Support Groups” which was distributed to nationally. • Handled production timelines, budgets, worked with graphic artists and printers. •Published Research & Advocacy Digests 3 times per year & disseminated to hundreds of agencies in the field.
