Daily Duties at California Indemnity Consultants:

Take in-person statements, photograph scene of accident or incident, appear at Mandatory Settlement Conferences to try and come to a settlement agreement with the claimant through the claimant’s attorney. Attend Small Claims Court with insureds and if the judge would allow for me to testify as to the facts I would, but if not I would be with the insured in support and on behalf of the insurance company. I would have transcripts, payments made, photos of the scene, and both vehicles for the insured to give to the other party and the judge. Attempt settlement prior to the small claims court hearing if claim was a either a comparative negligence case or if the claimant felt the company did not offer enough for the damage or injury to control settlement amount. Prepare insureds for hearings by letting the insured know what type of questions may be asked by the judge. Go over the facts of the loss with the insured; explain to the insured what the judge wants to know and how to conduct themselves in front of the court. Prepare interim and final verbal and written reports to principals detailing the investigation or hearing, the results, where and from whom information was obtained and if videotaped provide videotape transcripts.

What they like about California Indemnity Consultants:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
