Daily Duties at First Health Services Corporation:
• Tracked pharmaceutical manufacturers CMS and individual supplemental rebates for state Medicaid clients. Member of team assigned to recommend acceptance or refusal of supplemental rebates which resulted in whether particular pharmaceutical medications were listed as preferred or non-preferred on state Preferred Drug Lists. Presented proposed PDL to state Medicaid Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees, and after adoption of the final version, made the initial public presentation at the client’s state capital location. • Determined prior authorizations for Medicaid patients via phone with physician offices utilizing accepted client criteria. Autonomy given to make determination outside of given criteria if pharmacist felt authorization was justified beyond the criteria provided. Consistently ranked in top 20% of call volume handled in Managed Access Program call center. • Selected as direct contact for State Medicaid client. Served as liaison for the client should a specific need arise, such as authorizing high dose brand opioids for a cancer patient, which may otherwise have not been approvable.
