Daily Duties at Best Buy.Com:

Started as part time employee in a Best Buy store as cashier. With my store experience, I was hired to work M,W,F at the Best Buy corporate office for BestBuy.com in the Production Control Center (PCC). The PCC was the first line of defense for the website. I monitored the website availability daily, page response times, number of visitors, number of incident tickets open related to website and compiled the information into a Daily Activity Report which was often up to 11 or more pages with multiple graphs and charts. This report was sent out daily to a distribution list of over 100 members that included technical support members like DBA's, engineers and website designers as well as non-technical members in the business side along with leaders of BestBuy.com. After 3 months, I was converted to a full time employee which included on-call support for incidents after hours. When incidents or other issues were reported, my responsibility was to triage and communicate to the proper teams to facilitate resolution of the issue. I managed and coordinated command centers to resolve issues such as incorrect pricing, server down or network problems.

You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
