Daily Duties at Best Buy Co, Inc:

Responsible for life cycle management of 1200+ X86 technology based servers (physical and virtual). Engineering support in two data centers including racking, unracking, hardware replacement and basic cabling. On-call Engineering support of BestBuy.com systems both on-site and at off-site web hosting location including as primary support engineer. (Tier II and III). On-call support engineer for Corporate Server issues –rotating schedule (Tier II and III). Provided direction to L2 Wintel Engineers to resolve issues or used remote software to resolve issues directly on the server or cluster as needed. Administrator access to all Corporate Servers including Exchange, Active Directory, servers located in DMZ environments, SQL Cluster servers, Microsoft Messaging Servers, Web servers and Citrix. Inventory and decommission of Bestbuy.com Wintel assets when website was rebuilt on new platform. Primary engineer for implementation of various internal websites including Geek Squad scheduling website and Meeting Place (conference call software). Lease refresh of Wintel hardware – involved rebuilding new servers to established standards as well as working with application support to install software needed including JAVA, IIS, .NET Framework, PERL, Microsoft SQL with configuration of ODBC and Active Directory. Basic scripting – Command line and Visual Basic. All IT Operations for Best Buy were outsourced to Accenture in July 2004.
