Daily Duties at U.S Department Of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Special Litigation Section/Caci Inc.:
Apply strategic planning, prioritization, and project management skills toward consistently achieving critical deadlines while maintaining high quality standards. Maintain full accountability for complex general litigation support services to the Department of Justice Special Litigation Section of the Civil Rights Division. Play a key supporting role in the investigation, research and analysis of civil rights, 4th and 14th Amendment violations by Arizona Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. The case is considered one of the most controversial and nationally known cases in the history of the division. It affects the lives of a large number of Hispanic living in the area, but most importantly it could result in historic litigation. The case has gathered a lot of press coverage since the investigation started and continues to be all over the press. Review large amounts of documents and conduct analysis of facts as part of investigation into civil rights violations by MCSO. Review thousands of confidential documents, analyzed and evaluated their pertinence and connection with core elements of the investigation. I participate in all aspects of complaint investigations, including analyzing factual issues, collecting data and interviewing witnesses. Analyze statutes and regulations related to civil rights and constitutional violations. Identify and research civil rights and police misconduct issues and provided analysis often involving complex questions with few legal or policy precedents.
